Devin DeFrank '16 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Devin DeFrank. I have dreamt of playing college soccer and I will do whatever it takes to make this dream a reality. I started playing the game when I was about seven years old. I was selected to a premier team when I was eight years old as a defender/midfielder. I played on this team for six years until the team disbanded. Prior to this, we reached the finals of the New York West State Cup three years straight. I attend a small Catholic High School in Niagara Falls, New York.  I was selected as a varsity captain both seasons and earned second-team All-Catholic honors as a freshman and first-team sophomore year. I would say that my work ethic on and off of the field is my strongest trait. Some rely solely on size but I use intelligence and heart to succeed. I look at a soccer game as somewhat of a chess game, always needing to think ahead of your opponents. I use this to my advantage because I see the field well and I can read what most players are going to do. I am looking for a college that will challenge me on and off the field. I would prefer to attend a small-medium sized college that has a biomedical engineering major.
