(2016) My name is Ethan Kim and I am interested in proceeding to a division 1 college program. I feel that my work ethic is at a high level and my self motivation is a key component of my accomplishments. I am a loud player on the field with motivational words to help bring my team to compete to its very best and will always encourage positively. I am currently a starter on the Valencia CF academy in New York and have had the pleasure to earn and receive the position of captain because of my leadership skills. I always try to keep in contact with my coaches and ask for ways to improve my skill such as running more or to practice more technical drills etc. I am also on the Syosset varsity soccer team where I learned a lot about brotherhood, family and playing for those who have worn those same jerseys before me. I am visiting Valencia, Spain (feb 18-26, 2018) to play soccer with my team and maybe have a chance to practice/play with the Spain’s acedemy team. I practice 5-6 days a week and have that mentality where even when I am tired I say to myself, 1000 touches on the ball will make me 1000 touches better than I was before. I am gaining a lot of expierence and learning on how to “live” soccer. On the academic side, I am currently a sophomore and have been recieving an A averge for the first quarter and an A+ average in the second quarter. I believe my last years grade average (freshman) was a only a 90 but I am growing and becoming more knowledgeable in my acedemics and time schedule. My main goal is to play professional soccer and I will take every opportunity to make that goal into a reality.
