Anson Gai '20 Recruiting Profile

My name is Anson C Gai, I was born in San Francisco, CA, but I grew up in Taipei, Taiwan.  I am currently a Junior attending high school at Education First International Academy, and have been since my Sophomore year.  I have been playing soccer at EF Academy for the past two years, and as for my club resume I have played a short spell with the U-18 Hang Yuen FC back in Taiwan, before returning to the United States.  On the field, I prefer playing a more defensive role because growing up I have had more experience at this type of position. Also, the defensive duty is one of my strengths on the field. I am and have a become a very hardworking player.  At EF Academy, there is a lack of commitment amongst the athletes, and in saying that, I feel it is a priority to act in demonstration as a future leader. I act accordingly by hosting training sessions with friends, while also, continuing individual work to better my technique in the off season.  As a player, Hang Yuan FC coaches has described me as "A player who have high creativity and passing ability. Always using his vision create chance for his teammate." Also Coach Nick Sakiewicz who is coach at Elon University have describe me as "your passing ability is very strong along with your ability to find the ball in different pockets constantly. You see the field very well and have the ability to hit difficult passes. When attacking 1v1 your a pretty crafty player and use your intelligence to find the pass or combine around the numbers that are defending you. On the defensive side I believe that you are good at reading the game and finding ways to intercept or disrupt the opponents play. "
