Personal Statement
Growing up in a soccer-oriented home with two other brothers and a pushing dad has shaped me into what I am today: an uber-competitive soccer player with the drive to be the best and have a strong love for the game. I've been playing soccer ever since I could walk but I've been playing club since I was 6. After I got home from school one day, my dad asked me if I wanted to play U9 soccer as a 6-year-old. I was skeptical at first but it turned out to be the best decision I ever made in my soccer career. This decision set me on the path to go against older competition 6 out of the 10 years I have played travel soccer, excluding high school. Having to go up against bigger opponents has made me realize that in life and in soccer I have to work hard and sacrifice to get what I want, even if I do come up with a few knocks, and I've realized that I can handle it. But not only soccer but smarts as well are important in my family. Since I was a little kid, school was stressed as number 1. This has developed me into an academically "gifted" student and has made me want to challenge myself not only on the field but in the classroom as well. My goal is to finish with a 4.0 GPA in high school and in college I want to major in something related to business or photography. I hope to be at a college that is both an athletic and academic fit for me.
