  • Good afternoon William, We want to again thank you for attending our College ID Event July 27th - July 28th on campus here at NC State University, connecting with our staff and players, and learning more about our NC State Men’s Soccer program. The feedback we are providing, both positive and constructive, is to aid you in your continued development as a person and player, as well as provide specific information to your recruitment to NC State. You showed a willingness to learn, and gave effort throughout the entire event. The effort you gave on and off of the ball was good. Continue doing that, since being able to make hustle plays are invaluable in our game and very hard to teach that type of intrinsic motivation. In saying that there can be a point where you are working when you don't necessarily need to. Improving your technical ability, while under pressure and in tight spaces, will help you to retain the ball more comfortably and then you wouldn't have to work so hard to recover the ball after losing it. Working on this skill will be in your benefit in the long run. Your 1v1 skills defensively was shining through as you were able to close spaces and cut off angles to pressure and reduce your opponents options which resulted in recovering the ball on many occasions. Your ability to transition once we lose the ball as a team is good as well. Your speed works well to your advantage in these moments. Helping get in a numbers up situation in the attack and supporting your teammates to retain possession and ultimately scoring. I think working on your long ball services into the box would also help you and your teammates be a threat more often. You have a good foundation to build off of if you desire to take your game to the next level. Overall, we enjoyed having the opportunity to work with you throughout the event. Continue working diligently on the areas highlighted in the feedback, and seek opportunities to refine your technical skills, tactical understanding, and physical attributes. For our own recruitment here at NC State, we would like to see you perform consistently at a higher-level and dominate the College ID Day. We are happy to be a reference for you and we hope the training and video will help support you in your recruitment process.

  • Southeast Boys Academic 50 ID Camp
  • 7/06/24 to 7/08/24
  • Evaluated at Southeast Boys Academic 50 ID Camp on 07/06/2024 by Coach Kline of Bob Jones University Skillset Overview Technical Abilities - 87 / 100 Defending - Aggressive as a defender. Tactical Abilities - 89 / 100 Defensive Awareness - Understands team defensive schemes, shows understanding of positioning and angles. Group Play - Play was elevated in team activities. Great understanding of your roles and responsibilities within a team. Physical Abilities - 87 / 100 Endurance - Great work rate throughout camp. Showed endurance that helped effectiveness, especially late. Strength - Did a good job handling challenges and played well shoulder-to-shoulder. Mental Abilities - 89 / 100 Coachable - Responds well to coaching. Asked good questions and seemed to enjoy the learning process. Team Player - Great team-first attitude. Was encouraging and supportive to teammates throughout camp. Coach's Comments Great attitude and effort while at camp. Wiliam showed a desire to win and a good physical presence on the pitch. His physical strength and love for defending was a huge asset to our team as he was able to make a number of crucial tackles and put it all out there for the team. William has great potential to use his natural gifts to the advantage of the team. Sharpen your passing both short and long distance - As a center back, being able to distribute the ball accurately is essential to playing at the college level. Learn to play short, long and driven passes with both feet and you’ll make yourself an effective player able to manage and control games. Improve your fitness and mobility - While you have a solid technical and tactical foundation, mobility is key to playing at the college level. Lateral agility, explosiveness and game fitness are non-negotiables when it comes to playing at a higher level. Work hard to improve in each of these areas to see opportunities open up for playing in college. Improve your communication - One of the most overlooked skills required to play at the next level is confident, consistent, and coherent communication. Work on your ability to comment on the field in front of you and unify the team efforts through your understanding of the game and how you communicate that to your teammates.
