Personal Statement

Hello

My name is Juan Lainez. I have always been very passionate about sports in general. I at a very young age, felt that soccer was my sport. Since then I knew that I wanted to play collegiate soccer. I was always taught by my grandmother that with faith anything is possible. Ever since she passed away I feel like I have something to prove to her. 

I as a goalkeeper know that I have one of the biggest responsibilities on the field. I always feel like I am the one for the job. I know what I am capable of as a student-athlete and as a person in general. When it comes to my academics, I know being a student is the priority. As an athlete, you must have leadership skills and sports IQ. I believe I have all of that. That is why I believe I am different from any other student-athlete.
