Maddox Smith '26 Recruiting Profile

I am Maddox Smith, a center attacking midfielder from NC. I began playing soccer at the age of 4 and it quickly became my favorite sport. My goal is to play soccer at the highest level while using my talents to attended college. I am currently an upcoming senior at North Lenoir High School where I am an A/B student in all my Honors/AP classes with a GPA of 4.34. I am a two sport athlete which I believe allows me to train my whole body, helps minimize injuries, and contributes to my overall athleticism. I play varsity soccer, varsity tennis, and previously I played two years of JV basketball. 

 You can often find me leading the team and being an outspoken voice on the field. One of my foremost qualities is my coachability and ability to integrate the words of the coach into my playing style.  I am the starting midfielder for my High School varsity team and my 08 Clinton United club team. I have good vision, an ability to see passing lanes, and place the ball in an area where I know my strikers can go get it. My teammates can also depend on me to score goals when the opportunity presents itself. I was recently awarded my High School's All Conference Award and NLHS Impact Player Award for the third year in a row. My overall stats through three seasons is 46 goals and 38 assist. I can use both feet effectively, whether that's making a long pass or a short touch in traffic. Taking shots from outside the box with precision and power is also something I can do with either foot. I take most of my HS teams free kicks and I'm also able to make the throw in from the sideline to the box. Playing at the club level and High School level I have shown the ability to compete with athletes that are older than me as well.

I have been working since I was fifteen, maintained a GPA in excess of 4.25 while taking honors and AP classes, and have also volunteered with special needs students, and with other community organizations . I feel confident my skills and work ethic will make an impact at the next level.
