2017 HighlightsOn October 9th, 2009, my family and I came to the US from Bogota, Colombia (South America) due to the fact my father obtained a job as a spanish educator at Charles B Aycock High School through a program called VIF (Visiting International Faculty). When he obtained the job we were informed this job was only for a period of 3 years. However, through my father's hard work and dedication we obtained a sponsorship through the county (Wayne County Public Schools) leaving us now on our 8th year here in the US, my father's dream. This really taught me that any dream can be achieved through hard work, dedication and discipline; not letting anything stand in front of you, your goals and dreams. I have played soccer since the age of 3, having played for the school I attended in Colombia ( grades K-3), played for Norwayne Middle School here in the US and tied for Conference Champions, and now on my 3rd year of high school soccer and club soccer. Nothing ever really stopped me from playing soccer no matter where life took me in order to pursue my dream of playing among the few at a higher levels of soccer. I am now on my Junior year of high school and taking college classes in order to graduate from high school with an Associates Degree in Science; in order to accomplish this I will be taking college classes during the summer and pursue the dream of getting to play the beautiful sport of soccer while attending med school.
