While playing high school soccer, I fell in love with the concept of being on a team and putting forth personal sacrifice for the betterment of the team. Being part of a team is like being part of a family. Every individual has a different job to perform, yet it all meshes together toward the unified goal of doing our personal best and scoring.
I believe I have many attributes a college coach would find valuable in building a team.
Two of these qualities are self discipline and dedication in practice. Regardless of the challenges, I strive to practice my skills every day. Living in North Dakota, our outdoor field time is limited. I have been known to clear our side yard of snow so that I can continue practicing my touches on the ball!
Another important quality is that I am willing to dedicate my all to the goal of improving my skills and understanding of the game. I am willing to accept, weigh and evaluate constructive criticism, and apply it to my game as I strive for my personal best.
I feel it’s important to be the best student I can be because our bodies age and fade, but only our minds can sustain us for the long haul in life. If I use my mind to the best of my ability, the skills I learn today will carry me into a successful future that I can build upon throughout my lifetime. I want to be an Exercise Science major with an eye toward becoming an athletic trainer. I find joy in working out and pushing myself beyond my limits. I want to help others improve their physical abilities and be empowered to become the best that they can be, both on and off the field. I seek a college that can offer me the right combination of academic and athletic excellence to achieve my goals.
