My name is Rickey Shyne II, and I live in Strongsville, Ohio. I am interested in playing soccer at the college level. I have been a member of Samba Soccer Club since 2006. I have been a captain on Samba for several years. With Samba, I have traveled to Sweden twice, in 2012 and 2015. During both trips, I played in two tournaments, the Dalecarlia Cup and Gothia Cup. These are some of the biggest youth soccer tournaments, bringing in around 1600 teams from 80 nations. While my team did not win any trophies, we were very competitive. I received our club’s MVP award in 2012.
I consider myself a skillful, attack-minded, and thoughtful player. My best attributes are shooting, passing, and my soccer knowledge. I am mainly an attacking player with the ability to play any position on the field, but I excel in an attacking position.
I attend St. Ignatius High School, a college prep school. Throughout my time in high school, I have taken several honors and advanced placement classes, and I currently have a 3.35 GPA. I was selected to be a member of the Ambassador’s Club, Spanish Honor Society, and I am an active member of Model United Nations. I am a certified referee and I attend and participate in my church on a regular basis. In college, I plan to enroll in the field of Arts and Sciences. After graduation, I plan to attend medical school to become a physician.
