Sebastian Mauro Lizares '24 Recruiting Profile

I have been playing soccer since I was three years old. I have been characterized as a technically astute player who has an immense work ethic and is very coachable; as well as a player who possesses a high football IQ and strong ability to read the situation.  These characteristics have been honed throughout the years through club football in the Philippines since I was six years old and international club competitions since I was 10 years old.

My original plan was to pursue being a student-athlete in the US for college but my move was accelerated by the global pandemic. This early move has been an outstanding decision for not only am I getting a top notch education but I am also developing other aspects of my soccer game: level of physicality, conditioning, adaptability to new styles of play, and various positions played on the field. I have developed an increased versatility in my game and a growing leadership on the field.

As a student athlete, I am equally if not first and foremost a student.  I have always maintained a B+ average throughout my education while balancing the demands of soccer. For college, I plan to pursue a degree in either computer science or computer engineering for college, and I hope to continue being part of a  highly cohesive and competitive soccer team.
