Matt McNamara '14 Recruiting Profile

My name is Matt McNamara. I am 17 years old and I am a Senior at Lima Central Catholic. I am 6' tall and weight approx. 165 pounds. I have been playing soccer for about 14 1/2 years. I was a varsity starter for LCC for all my freshman, sophomore and Junior seasons. During my sophomore season I scored 9 goals and had 20 assists which tied for 9th in all of Ohio for assists. During the 2010/11 season I played club soccer and started for my Columbus Crew Jr. team. During the 2011/12 season I played for "Club Ohio" as a starter and our team went undefeated during the regular season.  My Junior high school season I scored 7 goals and had 17 assists which tied for 16th in all of Ohio for assists.  During the 2012/2013 season I again played for "Club Ohio"  and we won Ohio Cup went undefeated in the following college showcases: Ohio Galaxies Fall Showcase; Ohio Elite Showcase and the Carmel Crossroads of America Showcase.  Our team  won our U-17 state division league.  I have completed tryouts for "Club Ohio" for the upcoming 2013/14 season and have been asked to return and be a part of that team again. My goal is to play soccer on at least a college level if not higher. I would like to attend a college with a good soccer program while obtaining my college education in Sports Management. I feel my major strengths are my ability to see the field, my passing skills and my ball control and composure on the ball. I have very good endurance and have no problem playing an entire match.
