My name is Alec Ferrell. I am a 6'4" goalkeeper at Wake Forest University, which is an NCAA Division I college and arguably the best soccer college in the United States. We recently finished our season qualifying for the NCAA tournament with a first round bye. We unfortunately made an early exit.
When I arrived at school the coaches felt I would be a bit of a project and were surprised when I competed early on for the starting position. I arranged additional personal training and worked on my own after practice many days. I believe my hard work will pay off with minutes next season. I red-shirted this year so I still have four years of eligibility.
My ultimate goal is to play at the highest level I can. I believe I can compete with the best when I am on my game. I have all of the physical attributes to play in goal. I am really focusing on the mental aspect of the game because I believe that is where goalkeepers distinguish themselves. I am always looking for training opportunities that will stretch my limits because my primary goal is to be continually improving.
I want to help lead my team to a College Cup Championship and use my talents to improve the prospects of every team I play for.
