I have played soccer since I was 2 years old. Now, I play in the National Premier League for Ohio Premier Soccer Club. Additionally, I play soccer for my high school and I have been captain the past two years. In addition to soccer, I ran track, placekicked for my school's football team (varsity letter) and received a varsity letter in diving.
With my club team, I won the 2018 Ohio Club State Cup, went to the 2018 National Cup, participated in the Olympic Development Program and many other tournaments. I was a team captain on my club team as well.
When challenges present themselves, I take ownership and try to master the challenge. This drive has made me push myself to learn to ride a unicycle, solve a Rubik's cube and do a triple front flip on a diving board. When I was in the third grade, my parents challenged me to touch the ceiling of my basement. Despite my stature, I tried ten times before and after school every day until I achieved my goal, which took me about a month.
My coaches describe me as having “infectious enthusiasm” and “strong grit” for my no-quit attitude in games. I have strong endurance, playing every minute of every game in high school. One of the biggest challenges I have overcome as a soccer player is my size. I use my small stature to my advantage by focusing on being quicker and more skillful than others. Additionally, I strength train off the field so I can hold my own on the field.
I am open to playing anywhere in the United States if I can find a college that fits my academic and athletic goals. Finally, while I am an athlete, academics are always my number one priority.
