Gabriel Arsenault...
UNO Academy Goali...I started playing soccer at age 4 with my local team and my dad coaching me from the touchline. I didn’t know it then but playing this game would change my life forever and set me on a path of hard work, dedication, and passion.
I continued to play soccer consistently every week over the years with teams like Bolton Wanderers Soccer Club, Futsal Club Toronto, and Kleinburg Nobleton Soccer Club. I always had a good mindset with each game I played in and thought I was always the best player on the field even as a goalie.
Not too long ago, I started to feel like my game was stagnating and I wasn’t improving in areas I should’ve been until I met Camillo Benzi, the technical director at Kleinburg Nobleton Soccer Club and the assistant and goalie coach of York United FC of the CPL. He showed me ways of improving my footwork, reaction time, and catching ability in ways I never thought possible by attending his goalie trainings.
Aside from soccer, school has always been my number 1 priority. I always liked to bring the same mentality and hard work from the pitch into the classroom to attain the best grades possible while being the best version of myself around fellow students and teachers. This shows in the fact that I have achieved honour roll in every year of high school thus far while taking university level courses.
Now at age 17, I am facing the hardest choices of my life from here onward. Choosing a college that will help me to achieve new heights athletically and help me be the best scholar academically is my greatest goal and I will do everything I can to make my dream come true.
