Hello coaches. My name is Nicholas Allison. Currently, I am a grade 11 student attending Richview Collegiate Institute. Since grade 9, I have played as a member of the school varsity (Senior) soccer team and will be part of the 2023 graduating class. At the club level, I play goal keeper for the Woodbridge Strikers Men's League 1 Reserve Team. I have also been training with the Men's League 1 Team in Woodbridge.
My collegiate goals and aspirations are really about preparing me as both a leader and member of a team after university. That may come in the form of working within a company or organization. It may also come in the form of continuing a journey as a professional athlete. Much of this will depend upon hard work, choices made, recognizing available opportunities, timing and of course some luck. However this journey unfolds, these experiences will help shape who I become as a person and the impact my footprint will have on the world.
As a student, I have performed fairly well over the first three years of high school balancing academics, varsity sports and high profile, club level soccer. This has not been easy as it has come with a fair bit of effort, forward planning and support from a loving family. As a student athlete, balance is always very important. However, to be clear, I am a student first who happens to be a very committed athlete. Highly pressured situations have been part of my regular experience, having played top level, competitive soccer from an early age. As a 17 year old playing in a fast-paced mens' league, my focused, competitive and fearless approach has been essential as a goalkeeper.
Previous to this, I played keeper for the Toronto FC Academy for 5 years, which included participating as a starting keeper in the Ontario Player Development League against older competition, the Generation Adidas Dallas Cup, the Scotiabank Concacaf U13 Championships in Toluca, Mexico and several additional performances against professional academies and older club teams. The opportunity to earn a university degree while playing highly competitive soccer is very exciting for me. I am looking forward to this experience.
