Nathan Aquilina '25 Recruiting Profile

Hi Coaches,

My name is Nathan. I am a 17-year-old left-footed center back from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. I attend a high school with an elite soccer program that has produced members of the Canadian National soccer team. Outside of school, I accepted an opportunity to join Atlético Ottawa's (CPL) Reserve Program. 

Growing up, I played a variety of sports including hockey, track & field, basketball and skiing, so athletics have always been in my blood. I started playing soccer at the age of 5 and advanced to the competitive level at age 9. Two seasons ago, I transitioned positions from striker to center back, which has been a great fit. Having the experience of playing at both ends of the field gives me an edge and really enhances my perspective of the game. 

 As a player, I am often praised for my coachability and dedication. I am also told that I have a strong game IQ that I use to help organize and guide my team on the field, whether in a match or in training. 

 In terms of academics, I am a straight A student (4.0 GPA) who is planning to study International Relations or Economics. I am seeking a college that is a good fit for me academically, as well as a place where I can contribute and grow in my love of soccer.

2024 Season (Ottawa South United Atlético U23 L1QC/OSU OPDL U17)

- Played for Atlético Ottawa (CPL) U23 Reserve Program at Age 16/17

- 2024 League 1 QC U23 Reserve Champions

- 2024 OPDL/Provincial Champions

- OPDL U17 Team Ranked 2nd best 2007 Team in Canada During Regular Season

- 2 Regular Season Set Piece Goals

2023 Season (Ottawa TFC U17 OPDL ELITE ACADEMY) : 

- Identified to participate in Provincial Xcel Showcase (Top 70 Players in Province of Ontario Selected to Compete)

- Invited for a one week trial with Toronto FC Academy

- Played as a U16 player in U17 OPDL League

- Team ranked 4th place in province

- Received an Honorable Mention and Player of The Game Award at FTF Montreal Summer Combine

- 3 Regular Season Set Piece Goals

- Trained daily at elite high school program that has developed Canadian National Team players
