Mario Badescu '26 Recruiting Profile

I grew up in a family where education, faith, friendship, leadership, and sports are core values for every member.

I have been playing soccer since the age of 5, making a lot of friends on and off the pitch. When I was 8 years old, I became part of an Advanced Development Program, where I continued to develop my skills and understanding of the game.

Throughout my time playing soccer, I have participated in multiple different tournaments and events. Most recently in competitive leagues (MLS Next, OPDL, etc.) at Youth level and traveled often to tournaments in USA (Jefferson Cup 2018, GPS Cup Ohio and Boston 2019, GA Cup in Atlanta 2019 and MLS Next Showcase in Dallas 2022).

Every training session, game or evaluation has taught me that there is always room for development and improvement, there is always a next level to look for. This next level is what I desire and will put all the effort and dedication, to achieve this goal.

I am very adaptable, adjust well to different system of play, very coachable and with a great work ethic.

For me soccer is a passion, a great game played with the heart and intelligence first, where the legs are secondary and only helping. My game is based on decision making under pressure, game reading / anticipation and understanding of principle of play, body position to receive, speed of play and execution.

My goal is to attend a university that will not only challenge me in the classroom, as well as on the soccer field. 

Academically, for college program, I am interested in the field of Business or Kinesiology. 

I am hoping to find a good fit for my soccer skills and educational aspirations. Should that next step be at your college or university, I look forward to speaking with you.
