Jack Reid '24 Recruiting Profile

I have been playing soccer since I was 3 years old and come from a family of competitive athletes. I am an agile and dynamic natural playmaker with strong technical abilities and an exceptional sense for the game.  My quick speed and ability to strike the ball with either foot are important assets.  I am coachable and a leader both on and off the field.

I am confident that I would be a great addition to your team.  I have a proven track record of strong dedication and commitment to my soccer team, demanding training schedule and my academics. I have successfully balanced school, soccer, family and work during my high school career.  

In 2023, I was named the youngest player in my club's history to play for our Mens League 1 team (semi-pro league in Canada) at the age of 16.  In 2023, I was also awarded with the title of the fastest player in our club and was selected for the 2023 Ontario Provincial Xcel Screening program.  In 2022, I was named to the TOPP Welland Showase All-Star team.  I am extremely proud of each one of these accomplishments and have worked very hard to get here.

My entire high school career has included attending a specialized program, Academy for Student Athletic Development (ASAD), designed to help student athletes at high levels of competition and performance athletically, academically and psychologically.  This program includes the typical educational curriculum as well as sports specific on field sessions multiple times a week, sessions focussed on strength and conditioning in a gym environment, sports psychology, nutrition and lifestyle management.  This formal education and additional training has definitely given me an advantage over my competition. 

I demonstrate strong integrity, work ethic, and am a respectful athlete, student and friend. These attributes combined with my additional formal sport specific training, obtaining my bilingual certificate (English and French), dynamic soccer skills, speed and understanding of the game - set me apart from the rest of the field.
