Nicholas Longo '23 Recruiting Profile

I am a strong, confident, hardworking, technical forward player. I am fueled by passion and my love for soccer is evident both on and off the pitch; eat, breath, play, train, watch, learn and repeat. This has been my life for as long as I can remember and from this routine and mindset I have been fortunate to continue my journey as a talented soccer player.

I have participated in many matches/tournaments and showcases in my hometown (Whitby, Ontario) and surrounding areas within Canada, the USA and Europe. I have been Ranked Number 1 in the Top 10 Goal Scoring Leaders (Ontario Provincial Development League Standings), Number 15 in the Top 30 2023 Boys (FTF All Canadian Event Rankings), Champions (Erie Premier Cup, Durham District Elementary Cup), Finalist (Mid-West United Cup, Montreal Manic FA Cup, Robbie International Cup), Man of the Match and Nominated Team Captain. 

Throughout my soccer journey I have always had the support of my parents, teammates, coaches and friends. This ongoing support has helped shape me into the person I have become and has inspired me to push forward and "be better". As a young boy my father volunteered to be my team coach and we had a player that lacked family support and talent. My father taught me that offering and showing support goes a long way and there is a lot more to a sport than simply playing. Together we gave our support to this player and it was really a game changer; confidence goes a long way and talent follows. By understanding this important life lesson, I volunteered at my local soccer club for summer camp and it was rewarding.

My current goal is to obtain an Athletic Scholarship to better my education and self, while playing for a university/college team with the opportunity to grow and excel. I have chosen to study Sports Management/Business which will allow me to continue on my path with soccer/sports and surround myself with persons that have similar interests/goals, while giving back to the community. 

With my eagerness to learn about all aspects of sports, I will put forward my experiences, lessons and love of sports to further my knowledge and create my next chapter.
