Cole Bernard '26 Recruiting Profile

I began my soccer career in the competitive Seattle area before relocating to Bend, Oregon in 2018, where I played for 6 years with Bend FC & Oregon OPD. In July 2024, my family and I made the move to Southern California where I play for City SC on their U17 MLS Next Academy team. My future goals include playing at the highest level possible, where I can make a difference, with a team that shares my playing style. I hope to attend a university where I can excel equally in soccer and academics.

I am a skilled technical player and read the game well, which shows in my movement on and off the ball. My speed, touch, and soccer IQ allow me to play multiple positions and I often move around depending on what is needed in each match. When I am on the field my work ethic is higher than my opponents, where I work equally hard winning the ball on defense to then quickly transition to offense. One of my most valuable qualities as a player is my coachability. I highly value the feedback I receive and quickly apply it to my game. When I’m not training with my team, I watch and study high-level games in the EPL, participate in private training sessions to increase my technical level of play and do strength training to grow my physicality on the field.

In the classroom, I study hard to maintain a high GPA and take challenging and interesting classes. My academic interests include economics, finance, and design.
