Kellen Filker '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Kellen Filker and I just finished my junior year at Corvallis High School in Oregon.  I have been playing soccer for as long as I can remember and love the game.  I enjoy the challenge of new opponents and improving through practices, coaching, and learning from other opponents.  Soccer has taken me all over the United States (coast to coast) and I have had incredible experiences through "The Beautiful Game".  I look forward to continuing this incredible journey I have had with the game I love into college and possibly beyond.

Last season I played for the Varsity Team at CHS and have been on the Varsity team since my freshman year (1 of 2 Freshman to make the team and play).  My sophomore year I was the starting center midfielder and was named captain my junior year.  This past year I was named to the 5A All-Conference 1st Team and was also named to the 5a All-State 1st Team.  Our team made it to the 5A State Championship where we came up short but I was named Player of the Game for the Championship.

I have played on Club Teams since 6th grade including Corvallis Soccer Club, Oregon Valley Football Alliance, and ODP.  Within my current club team, OVFA, I play on their U17 Elite team as well as the U17-19 USL Academy team.  For the 2022-2023 season I made the U19 OVFA USL Academy Elite team where I am the starting center midfielder.  

I was just recently named to the 2022 All-American High School Watch List.

Academically I hold a 3.5 GPA and continue to take Honors and AP classes.  I have taken Advanced Architecture and AP Computer Science classes which I have enjoyed.
