Personal Statement
I began playing soccer at the age of 5 and found a true and lasting love for the sport. Soccer has had a major influence on who I am today. It has taught me to work hard to reach my goals. Through discipline, consistency, and mental strength I have overcome the obstacle of injury and have come out a better player, teammate and person. The highlight of my high school career was scoring six goals in a match in front of a home crowd. Although this was a great part of my athletic career, I felt I grew the most when I was selected to start varsity as a freshman. I entered that season with some self doubt about my ability to perform. Through my persistence, adaptability, and openness to my coaches and teammates instruction, I found my confidence and even more love for the game. In my sophomore season I took my new found confidence and skills and won a First Team All Conference award. I believe that I not only have the skill and talent necessary to compete for a college team but I also have a tremendous work ethic and coach ability. I am a great candidate for your team. I pride myself in my physicality, I am always one to put in a strong tackle or go shoulder to shoulder with a defender. My work ethic sets me apart. I am an extremely hard worker and I am willing to go the extra mile for my teammates and coaches. My positive attitude and uplifting personality would make me a great teammate and player for your team. My 4.1 GPA shows that not only do I excel on the field but I also do the same in the classroom. As an athlete and a scholar with a "grind or go home" personality, I know I have what it takes to be a leader on your team.
As a high school sophomore I have interest in both Medicine and Engineering.
