From a young age, I could always remember having a soccer ball glued to my feet. Having been raised in an Argentine household, I immediately learned what passion, competition and commitment meant to the beautiful game. Soccer has been a dominant part of my life as I have played year round on club and school teams since I can remember.
As I excelled at the club level, one year in particular elevated my sense and passion for the game. My team was struggling and players were very frustrated during the season, leading many teammates to exit the club to join another team. When I heard of their departure, at first I was upset, but it eventually motivated me further to commit and contribute to the team. I started working extra hard every practice and committed to some additional private lessons to further my skill set. The extra devotion and sense of urgency to help my team and improve my game helped me become a more dominant impact player. As a mid-fielder, I transitioned to an effective playmaker for myself, and my teammates. My field vision increased, and the accuracy and effectiveness of my passing grew. I also became a strong finisher and attacker near the goal by way of my proficiency with both feet. Now an attacking mid-fielder, I have developed the desired skill set to execute the team’s offensive tactics including ball distribution strategies and impacting the offensive flow of the game.
The challenges of that particular season taught me to persevere, further commit, and improve my game to suit the needs of the team through hard work and dedication. I desire to bring such qualities to a credible soccer program in college where my talents, dedication, and understanding of the game can be realized while also seeking a degree in Business Administration to fulfill my academic goals.
