Alexander Gutmann '20 Recruiting Profile

From an early age, I knew that I wanted to be a professional soccer player. I wanted to play for Barcelona, Manchester United, the Portland Timbers, and win trophies. As I grew older, these goals became less realistic to me, but my love for the beautiful game persisted. I have been playing soccer since I was 5, and have enjoyed and learned from all the highs and lows I've experienced. I've learned so much from so many different experiences and people, and I wouldn't trade any moment for a different outcome. All of them have contributed to my growth on and off the field.

I am one of the most dedicated people you will meet. Whether thats to my academics, friends and family, or athletics, I immerse myself and have an 'all-in' attitude that makes me a valuable person and player to be around. I have never been the most skilled player on the field, but I am a firm believer in the saying "hard work pays off."
