Personal Statement
Hello my name is Dylan Lee. I am a Senior at Wilsonville High School in Oregon. Wilsonville High is ranked in the top ten best high schools in Oregon for both our excellent academics and athletics. I start on varsity at right mid and during my sophomore year I helped bring our team to the NCAA 5A State Championship where we finished in 2nd. As a player I am versatile on any side of the pitch. I am comfortable on both feet and play right mid in high school and left fullback during club season. I play as a fullback for United PDX Academy 04 Black and have been with this club since the beginning of the year, however, I have been playing club soccer since the age of seven. This past season we won state, took second in Regionals, and advanced to Nationals.
While soccer is very important to me, so are my academics. My GPA is currently 4.33 and I am in the top 18 kids in my school for academics. In 2019 I was accepted into Wilsonville High School's National Honors Society. I see this as a great achievement for me and also as a step towards success in college and beyond.
One of my favorite features of being a part of a team is the bonding experience we get during long distance travel. I have traveled to many different showcases along the West Coast. During the summer of 2019 I got the opportunity to play soccer in Spain. I traveled and played teams all over the country. This experience introduced me to the highest level of soccer and gave me a boost in confidence in my level of play coming back to America.
I look forward to my college years and see those years as a personal growth period. I’m a natural self starter and rely on a “can-do” attitude. I strive to be a great asset and consider myself to be a performance driven individual on and off the field.
