Brandon McCracken '12 Recruiting Profile

I am 6'-1" tall and weigh 183 lbs. I have played soccer since a very young age and am fortunate to have excelled at the sport. As a 7th and 8th grade middle school player, I was voted captain by my teammates and led the team in scoring and assists both years. In high school, I started every game in my freshman, sophomore and junior years. I was voted team captain my junior year and received an All-Section award. I played my Cup/Classic soccer for Steel Town Magic (STM) from U12's through U16's, and will now play for Beadling SC this coming spring as a U17. I hope to attend a college where I can play soccer and get a good education. It does not matter in what division the college particpates, or the size of the college - All that is important when it comes to soccer is that I get a chance to play and to contribute to the team's success. Although I would like to get some meaningful playing time as a freshman, I realize that nothing is guaranteed and that I must prove myself in order to earn time on the field. My preference is to find a college in the U.S. Northeast; preferably near Western Pennsylvania. I am not certain what I want to study, but hope that I can get a good education and excel in academics as I have done at the high school level. Some of my extracurricular activities, in addition to soccer, include National Honor Society, Future Business Leaders of America, Westinghouse Honors Science Institute program, HS School Symphonic Band, HS School Choir, National Academic League, Key Club, Grade 8 soccer referee certification, West Allegheny Summer Soccer Camp Volunteer, "West Allegheny Haiti Pasta Dinner" and "Pennies for Pasta Benefit" volunteer and an upcoming trip to the New Orleans area in February 2011 to assist with rebuilding of flood-damaged homes.
