My name is Rowen Skinner, I love to play soccer, am a great student and a very hard-working multi-sport athlete. Growing up I have always been competitive and playing sports has allowed me to channel my competitiveness. I have grown up playing many different sports such as soccer, tennis, baseball, basketball, and lacrosse. Playing so many different sports has helped me be well rounded, hard-working and motivated.
I currently attend Kennett High School and play winger or center midfield for my high school team. For my club team, Penn Fusion, I play outside back and wing back. I am a versatile player that is willing to play wherever my team needs me. Some traits on the field that help me stand out are my ability to find the open man, 1 v 1 defending, soccer/tactical knowledge, and my speed. Being a multi-sport athlete has set me apart from other players by allowing me to fit in quickly with different teams, strengthen muscles that I don't use as much in soccer and makes me very coachable. At my high school, I am currently on varsity for soccer, tennis and academic team.
I want to play soccer collegiately, but I also want to go to a school that offers a good academic path for me. In school, I am a straight A student with an interest in history and law. Outside of school I like to read, workout, and I enjoy volunteering for various organizations. One organization that I participate in every year is Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child (OCC). Through OCC, I build shoeboxes to send to children around the world that include toys, school supplies and hygiene items.
I enjoy playing soccer at a high level and know that I can improve and get better. I will continue to work hard to reach my goal of playing soccer in college and will do whatever it takes to take my game to the next level.
