Highly motivated with international playing experience!
Hello! My name is Ethan Sevison, and I am currently a junior at Delone Catholic High School (DCHS) in McSherrystown, PA (class of 2025). I have been playing soccer since I was 5 years old, and it is my passion and my way of life. I currently play for Frederick Skyline CF (UPSL) as a right back and Delone Catholic High School as a forward/winger (named YAIAA Allstar and team captain). I also play for IFK Maryland Academy. My IFK Maryland team traveled to Sweden in July 2023 to train and play with IFK Munkfors, and to compete against professional Swedish league teams. I also traveled to Umeå, Sweden in July 2024 to train and play with IFK Umeå. I was voted Man of the Match after scoring the opening goal in our first match against IFK Amal. While training and playing with IFK Umeå, I trained with former English Premier League players and coaches. Additionally, I previously played for the Olympic Development Program (ODP) team for the Maryland State Youth Soccer Association. I traveled to Italy with my ODP team in April of 2022 to train and play games against high level European youth teams. While in Italy, we trained with Torino FC and competed against Torino FC Academy and AC Milan Academy along with other high level local academy teams.
My dream is to play high level collegiate soccer, and to study in the field of sports medicine. My long term dream is to play soccer professionally one day.
I am a very hard worker, and I am always looking to improve myself both physically and mentally. I am self-motivated, and I am constantly trying to better my overall performance. I have been voted man of the match multiple times during this most recent season to include both district playoff games (DCHS), and I also serve as team captain. I was also named as a regional All-star. As a natural leader, and as team captain, I helped lead my high school team to its best individual season record and the first district playoff appearance in school history. I believe that I am very good at reading the field, seeing opportunities, and finding the smart play and open man to give our team the best opportunity to score. I play multiple positions very well and I have been told that I hold a high “soccer IQ.” While I love playing soccer, I also work hard to improve myself academically. I believe that education is important, and is part of being a more well-rounded person and player.
I strongly believe that my dedication and commitment to excellence would make me a valuable asset to a collegiate soccer program. I take instruction well, and I learn quickly. I have been told by past and present coaches that I am easy to coach. My work ethic also makes me an ideal candidate. I strive to be better every single day, and I work just as hard to be a good teammate and friend. I take pride in my performance, so I am willing to work as hard as I can to make my dreams come true.
