My name is Nathan Kleya and I am 16 years old. I am currently a junior at Gateway High School in Monroeville, PA (outside of Pittsburgh ). I am 6’ 0”, 175 lbs. I have been playing soccer since I was 6 years old and am very passionate about this sport and would like to continue to play at the college level. My primary position is goalkeeper but I also have played a lot in the field at left defense.
My dominant foot is my left. I like to play a physical, fast, and team-oriented style of play. Some of my strengths are switching play, quick passing and movement, and strength in the air. As a goalkeeper, I am a strong shot-stopper and distributor of the ball. I am willing to train and practice to become better as a player and part of the team.
I lettered in both my sophomore and junior years at Gateway. I play for the Allegheny Force Football Club (AFFC). I have been with AFFC for 2 years. Last spring (2011), I made the U-18 AFFC squad, at age 15. We made it to the regional semi-finals. This year, I play for the U-17 AFFC team. In early December, my team participated in the College Winter Classic in Lancaster , PA. This year’s team plans to attend more college showcases.
Last summer, I attended the Duquesne Elite Soccer Camp. Your camp gave me the opportunity to play with other talented players which taught me a great deal and increased my skills and desire to become a better player.
Academically at Gateway, through my sophomore year, I have maintained a 4.07 grade-point average. My class rank is 13 out of a class of 356. I have an excellent work ethic which helps me improve in both academics and athletics.
I hope you will consider me as a potential member of your soccer squad.
