Andrew Wheelan '25 Recruiting Profile

Hello Coach, 

   I am taking a postgraduate year at Mount St Charles Academy and playing for former N.E. Revolution player Nick Woodruff. I earned All NEPSAC honorable mention this Fall season 2024 and my team made it to the NEPSAC Semifinals, where we lost in a shootout.

  Ultimately, my goal is to find a school where I can continue to play goalkeeper at a high level and compete for minutes as a freshman. I plan to major in Finance and/or Psychology and follow a passion I have developed based on my life experiences to date. I am looking for the best academic and financial fit possible. Soccer is the most important but academics and finances will be an important driver in my decision. 
    As a teammate, I am vocal and supportive. I always strive to have the loudest voice on the pitch and instruct my teammates to the best of my abilities. When I am playing I am locked in and focused. Even if I only make a few saves during the game, you will know I am on the field at all times.
   When I am not playing soccer and/or futsal, I love to surf! In the Summers I work as a surf instructor, and during the year I fit in as many shifts at the the retail surf shop as I can. Surfing has been a great way to challenge different muscle groups that help me to be a better goalkeeper and stay fit. Plus the feeling of catching a great wave and a long ride is both exhilarating and peaceful. Its a great release from my challenging academic and athletic schedule!
