Personal Statement
For as long as I can remember, I have played soccer. I first truly found my love for the game around the age of 10. That year, my parents took us on a trip to England. Throughout the trip, I got to go to a Chelsea game and a Liverpool game, and after that, you would never see me without a ball at my feet as we walked around London and years after. Shortly after this trip, I severely broke my wrist during a game, which left me unable to play games for almost six months. I was itching to play again and would go to all of the team’s games to support them. Once I overcame the injury I was more excited to get on the pitch than ever before.
I have played in pretty much every position on the field and came to love winger and striker. As I continue to play, I keep learning so many things about myself as well as the game. I love bonding with my teammates and learning how people tick. Along with this, I have always been a team player, only ever giving words of encouragement to my teammates. This year, my high school team got to the second round of the playoffs. Since next year is my senior year, I want to go all the way. I am extremely excited for my senior year, mostly because of my club team and the leagues we will be in. I will also be playing in a Futures team next year which will be in the UPSL men’s league which will hopefully give me a preview to the physicality and level of college play. I look forward to continuing my soccer career and can’t wait to see what life has in store for me!
