I am Hugo Tovar Alanis, 16 years old, Class of 2024 Jack C Hays High School. I was born in Monterrey, Mexico where I first fell in love with the game of soccer and our local team Tigres UANL. 4 years later we moved to the San Marcos, Texas where I joined my first youth soccer team at 6 years old. I will never forget the feeling I had putting on my cleats for the first time and dribbling up the field and scoring. Honestly, the game has taught me so much important lessons and skills I have applied in my everyday life. Such as always working hard in anything I do or communicating with the people around me. Both my parents have been a huge part of my life, they have always told me that what ever I do, I should always do my best. My parents have also always really enforced that my education should always come first. I have a 3.82 weighted GPA and have kept A's and B's my two highschool years. Although I am not the first person in my family to study here in the US, I am planning on becoming the first in my family to graduate both highschool and college in the United States. Just like any other soccer player, my dream has always to become a proffesional and I believe playing in a competitive college soccer will get me there.
