Julian Lopez '25 Recruiting Profile

My name is Julian Lopez and I am currently playing as a forward at Capital City Soccer Club in Austin, Texas. I will be a senior at Cedar Creek High School in the Fall 2024 and expect to graduate in Spring 2025 with a GPA of 3.5. My cumulative GPA is a 3.3. My Junior year GPA is a 3.95. 

    My passion for soccer started in Germany. My family moved to Germany when I was four years old and we lived there for six years. I attended a German school, where I learned German fluently and integrated with German culture. Naturally, I started playing soccer in kindergarten because soccer is the only sport German kids play! My most impressive soccer experience was when Germany won the World Cup in 2014. I remember the streets being filled with people celebrating and dancing. I also remember watching Eintracht play against Bayern Munich - 80,000 soccer fans chanting in unison as the players were walking onto the pitch was a moment that I will never forget. Unfortunately, our residence in Germany was short-lived. We moved back to the United States and landed in South Dakota where there is are more cows than soccer players! Nevertheless, I was determined to continue with soccer and tried out for Dakota ODP. Dakota ODP led me to be in the regional ODP U14 team, which in turn, led to my recruitment to Shattuck-St. Mary’s MLS NEXT U15 team. I played for Shattuck-St. Mary’s for two years until my family moved to Austin, Texas. Here, my efforts have contributed towards helping my 2007 team to win our division and make it to the 2024 EA Championship - scheduled in St. Louis, MO in June 13-16, 2024. I am a strong midfielder and winger, able to create scoring opportunities for my team. I am not a selfish player, as I strongly believe that an assist is as good as a goal. I am 6 feet tall and weigh 165 pounds.

I have strong ties to California as I was born in San Francisco and my extended family, including my grandparents, currently live in the Los Angeles area. I am interested in studying Computer Science or Engineering.  I am a strong midfielder and winger, able to create scoring opportunities for my team. I am not selfish with the ball as I strongly believe that an assist is as good as a goal.
