Alex Mejia '18 Recruiting Profile

I loved the game since I first stepped onto the field at age 3. I have been playing since then, always trying to get better and even making it into a very highly rated team in the state. I am very determined to become the best center back I can be.  I am very flexible about what postion I can play. I have come to realize that I must be able to play any position the team will need me in. I had to adjust to be an offensive player in the center midfield and on the wings as a right and left midfielder. Also, I adjusted to playing on the wings defensively and always made sure I became better in my primary postion as a center back. I am very passionate about the game, I give 100% to every match and practice go to. I watch games of the past and present in order to know how I can improve at playing soccer by watching the professionals play the sport. Academically I do not let it interfere with my athletics nor do I let athletics interfere with my academics. I learned in middle school that I am a student athlete, meaning, I must balance out when I should focus on soccer and when to focus on academics. That is why I believe I am a great candidate for the team.
