Hello coach. If there is anything you should know about me is that I am dedicated. When I set a goal, it is hard for anyone to stop me from achieving it. I am a person who will never quit or hold back. I will give my 100% in both school and for my soccer team. Growing up as a young Hispanic boy in the United States was not easy. When I first attended school in the United States at the age of 7, I could not read or write. It took me about one year to get A's and B's. I always look back at this experience and realize that nothing is impossible for me, both on the field and in the classroom.
I first started playing futbol (soccer in Spanish) at the age of 3. It was at this moment when I realized that I was in love with the beautiful game. I was always a dangerous attacking player, and as time progressed, I found my true position: Center Attacking Midfielder. When I was 16 my coach began to move me around. He told me that I had potential and that I needed to learn to play multiple positions for the future. "In college, they might put you in other positions, and if you do not know how to adapt to them, you will ride the bench". This is something my coach constantly told me.
Now, I can play outside midfielder, center midfielder, and center forward effectively. I am most dangerous when the ball is at my feet though. I believe that I have great ball handling skills and can send beautiful passes to spaces behind defenders. I play both high school and club soccer, and led my high school varsity team in goals as a sophomore and junior. I only play high school soccer for fun, since the competition is no where near the prestigious tournaments, such as Surf Cup and Disney Showcase. Many people can say that they were the top goal scorers in their high schools, but how many can say that they had two assists and the game winning goal in a Disney Showcase final? Not many.
My collegiate goals are to continue my soccer career and one day obtain my J.D. I believe that I can be a great asset to any team for two simple reasons. The first reason is because I have great vision and ball handling skills. The second one is because every time I step on the field, even when I am not having the best of days, I leave it all on the field. I play with emotion (I do not let the emotions play with me). Thank you for taking the time for looking at my profile.
