Austin Meyer '17 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Austin Meyer, and I am beginning my junior year at Boswell High School, in Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD.  I have been on the Varsity soccer team starting at defensive midfielder since my freshman year.  In 2014, I was named Defensive Newcomer of the Year, and Second Team All-District.  I was also named to Second Team All-District my sophomore year, as well as the team Most Valuable Player.  I have been playing club soccer since seventh grade, playing for International FC for one year, and Fort Worth FC for three years.  This year, I switched teams to get experience playing in the Dallas Chamber Classic League, and am currently playing for Saints ASC.  The majority of my playing experience is in central midfield, but I am versatile and have played almost everywhere on the pitch.  My strengths on the field include: good touch, ability to take on players, defensive awareness/ positioning and accurate passing.  Most of my spare time outside of school is spent working to increase my skill and performance.  To help increase my stamina and endurance for soccer, I have been running Varsity Cross Country.  My freshman year, we won district, and I was able to run at Regionals.  I run a 5:15 mile and can last the full 90 minutes in a match.   Academically, I am taking pre-AP and AP classes, and have good grades.  I would like to major in business in college, and am open to any size university.
