Personal Statement
My aspiration is to play soccer at the highest possible level in college as a starting player while majoring in economics.
I am a good asset to a team because I can play every forward and midfield position, and can also use both feet well which gives me the versatility a team would need to fill in positions if other players are missing injured or out of form.
I have a good work rate on the pitch allowing me to press high and win the ball from defenders and midfielders throughout the game. I model my game off of a variety of players but one player I try to replicate is Gabriel Jesus, not for his shooting or dribbling, but for his pressing. He is able to win the ball from defenders constantly, creating goal opportunities from nothing. I work very hard in training to win the ball whenever there is a possession-based drill so that I am able to improve this ability in my own games.
My best attribute as a player is definitely my dribbling. I am able to complete around five dribbles a match when I am playing out wide or in the midfield which allows me to draw defenders and create opportunities for runs from my teammates or shoot on goal myself. I have good ball control and can juggle a ball as long as I want with either foot. Through hours of practice, I have moved on from just standing and juggling and now practice my ball control by juggling while running or walking or kicking it against a wall.
As a junior currently attending St. Pius X High School, I have always been very interested in History, Geography and English and I am currently taking AP English and AP US History classes. I enjoy these subjects a lot and I hope that I will be able to continue pursuing these interests in college. I want to major in economics as that subject involves an accumulation of many of my interests and has great employment opportunities.
