Dear possible future college coach,
Background:
My name is Aden Al-Mashouq and by looking at my profile you can see that I am in the graduating class of '23. I was born Georgetown, Texas and was raised in Pflugerville, Texas.
I am sure that you may have seen plenty of other athletes profiles that are all filled with college ID camps and they all play ECNL or some high league. However playing at that level not only requires skill but chemistry of the team and it comes with a hefty price tag as well. I play with Pflugerville FC which is a nonprofit club. The thing that sets me apart from other athletes looking to play college soccer is that most of the athletes you have seen have all only trained here in the US. In 2018 I went on a trip to the Netherlands and had the opportunity to play in an international tournament but also have specialized training under the PSV academy and. The private organization, Forza Campiones I went with has sent countless players to top colleges and professional teams, and I've trained under the head coach for 3+ years.
About me as a player:
As a person, I am a very coachable player and very easily moldable, I am open to every coaches feedback and take it and apply it to my game. I play a 10 on the field and can easily play a 9 or a 6, as a 10 my role is to link up the attacking play and distribute but also to drop and help the team get out of the back. Playing a 10 is a very difficult position as you have to find the perfect balance of being an offensive minded player but also having that defensive side down, which I believe I have a very good understanding of. As you can tell by my main positions I like to play central, this is because I like to have the freedom to move around and link up play from defense to offense and from the right side of the field to the left and still have the freedom to take players on. I am able to ping a ball to a player 30 yards away with pinpoint accuracy but also play a simple through ball on the ground, I can strike the ball from 20 yards out with some power but still have a calm 1v1 with the keeper and finish.
About me as a person:
I also have helped coach the 2011, 2009 and 2007 boys as well at my club. I have also help out the club with the social media, meaning I go out to events and take pictures with my camera rig and create content for the people to watch and enjoy.
Academic studies:
I am currently in the process of rectifying my grades as I know that college coaches want a star student as well as their star athlete, hence the name "Student-Athlete". I do suffer from a condition called osgood-schlatter disease which is a common problem in athletes that causes pain and swelling below the knee joint, where the patellar tendon attaches to the top of the shinbone. Constant stress and use of the knees could result in a tear of the patellar tendon, which is they key part to bending your knee to walk/sprint. This is quite a painful condition when trying to play soccer which is all sprinting and changing direction. Now you have an understanding of my condition, I would like to study Kinesiology or some form of physical therapy because I would like to help athletes that might have my same problem and help them get better.
Thank you for taking your time to read this and I hope you will consider me as a potential student-athlete at your school.
