My name is Daniel Villalba, a 2009-born-soccer player from Pflugerville, Texas. I am able to play anywhere in the midfield, including the 6 (defending mid), 8 (holding mid), and 10 (attacking mid). At the moment, I play for SGA in the Mls Next II league and attend Hendrickson High School where I'm a member of the varsity team. I'm a technically skilled and high-IQ player known for my work rate on the field, ability to break lines with passes, and my physicality on the field.
First and most importantly, my greatest motivation in life and on the field is my faith in Jesus Christ. About everything I do, including soccer, in my eyes, is a way to glorify Him and reflect His love and purpose. My church, Parkway Bible Church, plays a huge role in my life. Through their support, encouragement, and accountability, I've grown both spiritually and personally. Through our youth group, we actively share the gospel every summer in East Austin, which is a notoriously impoverished area in our community. Being able to share the gospel of Jesus Christ to kids and families who may not be able to hear it elsewhere is an opportunity that humbles me and brings joy into my life. That mission mindset carries into how I train, compete, and treat my teammates and coaches. Whether I'm on the field or in my community, I aim to live in a way that reflects Christ's character; working with humility, leading with compassion, and playing with heart and integrity.
On the field, I'm a player who enjoys playing in high-pressure situations, and I aim to give 100% every session. My game is built on ball control and game tempo, and I'm constantly working to improve both technically and physically. My club team, SGA, helps me improve in these aspects every session, and I benefit greatly through my club and my coaches. I take pride in being coachable, disciplined, and a leader on and off the field.
Off the field, I maintain a 3.98 GPA while taking numerous honors and AP classes. I'm especially interested in a STEM-related career, or a career that allows me to share the gospel or work in a church. Whatever it may be, I believe I can match the hark work and time management it takes to get where I want to go. My goal is to compete at the highest college level possible while earning a degree there. I hope to continue growing as a player and eventually pursuing a career in soccer or something related to my faith.
I'm excited to find a program that will challenge me and help me grow as both a player and a person. Thank you for taking your time to learn more about me.
