Personal Statement
I am Esteban Parra, son of two Colombian immigrants. I was born in 2001, in Provo, Utah. Growing up, I had always been around soccer and South American Culture. My dad played soccer ever since he was a kid, and he did a good job passing on that interest. I began playing soccer at around 7 years old. I played for Utah FC and Sparta FC through middle school, played independently for 1 year, played 2 years of high school soccer and have now been playing for Xolos of Tijuana for almost 3 years. Ever since the beginning it's been a dream of mine to play professionally. Not only do I have fun playing the beautiful game, but I find excitement thinking about how I could improve. For this very reason, I love soccer. Because of that love, I have learned to push myself and continue to grow in many aspects of my life. Academically, emotionally, and mentally. Understanding the impact of hard work and continuous learning, I want to spread the enthusiasm I have for growth.
This drive to help those around me is a big reason I'd love to become a clinical psychologist . I believe that this passion that I have, is truly what makes me standout. Not only will I strive to be the very best I can for your team, I can promise you I'm going to lift everyone around me as well.
