Personal Statement

Allow me to introduce myself as a dedicated and resilient young athlete with a fervent desire to pursue soccer. For over a decade, I have dedicatedly pursued my dream of playing soccer, and I am now eager to take the next step in my journey.

Throughout my years on the field, I have honed my skills as a defender, consistently playing as a center back for both my ECNL club and Varsity teams. Moreover, I possess versatile experience in playing in the midfield and wing positions, whenever the team needed me to fill those roles. My greatest strengths lie in my ability to combine speed and agility with a robust defense in challenging situations, and in communicating both on and off the field. Additionally, I possess a keen sense of judgement and exceptional passing skills in tight angles, making me a trustworthy and dependable defender for my team.

In addition to my athletic accomplishments, I have also excelled academically, currently maintaining an unweighted 4.0 GPA while taking on the challenge of 13 AP courses. Furthermore, I am also dedicating a significant amount of my time to community service activities.

As I embark on my academic journey, I would like to carry this passion for soccer with me to college. I am eager to showcase my talent, and I humbly request your kind consideration to provide me with an opportunity to do so. Thank you!

  • Activities- Clark County Youth Achievement Award for Leadership. - Volunteering Work at Teens for Tomorrow, Clark County, WA: I led and rallied along with Teen for Tomorrow volunteers to pass State House Bill 1664 in the Senate aimed at securing funds for physical, social, and emotional support services in schools. I conducted workshops focused on mental health education and designed posters themed around prevention. The team saved $58K in state funds in 2022. - Boys and Girls Club, Union High School, Vancouver: I co-founded a STEM initiative at my local Boys and Girls Club. Remembering how my love of science had stagnated during COVID-19, I was determined to give back to my community by reigniting this fascination in other children. After months of coordinating and deliberating with teachers, principals, and our local Boys and Girls Club directors, I finally implemented a curriculum where local children could have fun with science. By sharing my passion for science and technology, I helped to inspire a new generation of kids. Taught and provided resources for 25 students.
