Personal Statement
I am a 5’11” 155 lb right mid/defender class of 2023, from Maple Valley, WA, just outside of Seattle. I’ve been playing soccer since I was three, and, although I tried other sports, I knew from a very early age that soccer was my passion. So, I focused my efforts on training to become the best soccer player I could by joining more competitive teams and participating in weekly private training sessions. During quarantine, I trained with my club coach over Zoom and completed the workouts and drills he required each day. I also ran four miles, five days a week in order to keep up my stamina. I’m currently training four days a week with my club team and running five to six miles at least once or twice a week (averaging ~6:10 a mile).
I play for the Valencia CF Academy (Seattle) 04/05 team. I play the whole game as a starter; I am mainly a right/left fullback, but I also move into the outside mid positions at times.
As a sophomore, I played my first high school season on the Tahoma High School varsity team, was a starter as a winger and averaged about 50 minutes a game. As a junior, I was a starter as a winger and played 75-90 minutes per game. During my junior year, I made 10 goals and 6 assists throughout our 18 game season.
Also during my junior year, I was chosen as First Team All League forward for 4A NPSL (https://www.thenewstribune.com/sports/high-school/article262044767.html). I was also chosen as Second Team All Area forward by The News Tribune (https://www.thenewstribune.com/sports/high-school/article262358297.html).
I consider myself a team player who adds overlap runs, taking the ball up the field, tracking back on defense and creating chances to score.
