I’m Diego Silva. I go to Mercer Island High School and I graduate in 2024. I want to continue playing soccer through college at a competitive level, whether that be NAIA, D1, D2, or D3. I want to compete in the sport I love while also being academically successful.
I believe I’d be a great addition to many teams due to certain aspects of my game like my touch, passing, vision, creativity, and versatility. While I’m best in the midfield, wings, and as a false-nine, I am capable as a fullback or even as a makeshift center back. I also never find it difficult fitting into new teams and adapting to new environments has never been an issue for me. I’d consider myself very coachable, always willing to learn something new from coaches or fellow teammates.
In my past, I’ve struggled with a long-term injury that I’ve now fully recovered from, and I pride myself on doing so, as it took a major toll on my motivation and development with me being out for more than a year, yet I came back better than before, serving as a testament to my perseverance as a person and player.
Academically, I have a 3.92 GPA, am a successful DECA competitor in ICDC, fluent in Portuguese and somewhat proficient in Spanish, president of a club and member of two others, and a member of the National Honor Society. I also plan on taking multiple honors and AP courses in my Junior year.
