Personal Statement
I am a multi-sport athlete and would like to continue my soccer career in college. I have consistently competed year-round in a variety of sports, from club soccer to wrestling, cross-country, track and even competed in swimming and competitive gymnastics when I was young. The two sports I have chosen to focus on in high school have been wrestling and soccer. Sports have helped me become both a very strong and versatile athlete as well as an intense competitor.
I train year-round with Crossfire Premier FC, competing in multiple regional tournaments, such as Surf Cup. I was able to continue year-round training during the pandemic, and we started our 2021 competitive season in February. On the field, I am known to be a strong communicator and read the game well. I am recognized for my physicality and leadership of our defense. I primarily play center back, but enjoy minutes at right back with the opportunity to join some of our offensive passages of play. My long throws can help set up plays similar to a corner kick.
My High School career started in May 2021 and I was selected as a sophomore onto the varsity squad. I started and played as the center back on the varsity team helping the Mustangs to an overall 6-2-2 record and the district title. I was awarded my varsity letter.
I have a 4.0 GPA and am on the advanced math track at my high-school, currently taking Honors Pre-Calculus as a sophomore. I will be taking AP Computer Science and Calculus next year and am considering Running Start (opportunity to earn college credit) for my senior year. I am considering pursuing a degree in Business. Both my parents and older sibling have STEM degrees and this is definitely one of my own academic strengths.
