2022 Highlights #2
2022 HighlightsMy name is Angel Cabrera Jr. I’m 17 year old Senior at Appleton West High School. I’ve been playing soccer since I was 4, something about the game caught my eye when I was a little kid watching a team play as they work as one putting effort into each match and being named champions later that season I was so interested in soccer wanting to play with a team and giving my all every game like the players on the team I watched. I learned a lot through playing soccer about how motivated I can be, how I can train and train to improve my abilities and to show what I'm made of every time I step on the field. Over the years of playing soccer, I have been training constantly to improve my skills and learning new things that I can improve on and I still do this to this day being the best forward I can be.
I put in my full effort when playing soccer, training hard to improve and succeed. I'm always playing with the ball no matter what, in the fall is high school soccer season playing at the varsity level and when it ends I’m playing indoor soccer with my club team as it lasts until February then I train in the spring practicing shots, dribbles, running drills, etc so that I can be even better at those skills. then in the summer back to playing with my club team. I watch soccer daily not just because it's fun to watch a good team with good players on that team but to learn from watching the player who plays in my position understand what they are doing by studying them than practicing it so that I can do the same when I play on the field playing in my position eye on the ball set and ready to receive the ball and I never stop training ever it shows how dedicated I am to the game pushing myself to be the best I can be all the time at different levels, I join 3 different clubs because I want a new challenge I want something to keep me motivated and strong to push me to the limits and I think it's a good thing to help me play better and do better when it comes to games. After high school playing at the college level is the next challenge for me, I always wanted to play at the college level. It will be a good experience to help me become a better player but when the day comes to play in college soccer I will be ready.
Soccer isn’t the only thing I put my full effort into, Academically with a GPA of 3.40 I focus on each of my classes making sure that homework is done correctly before submitting it making sure I get enough study time for each class in school so that when quizzes come or test day comes im prepared and ready to go because I know its important to do good in school day in and day out staying dedicated and motivated all the time making sure by the end of the day im ready for the next test or quiz to come.
The main thing about me is that im always motivated in soccer im putting my effort into every match showing people what I can do, what I learned, and what I trained for showing every time what this sport means to me because this sport is my everything as now starting the varsity level experiencing this new challenge is good to get me ready for college soccer preparing me for what’s to come and I know once high school soccer is over I know I want an even bigger challenge wanting to do more as the next step is college soccer hopefully I can join the perfect college for me and show why I was meant to play soccer.
