My soccer career, so far, has been extremely exciting with a lot of ups and downs. I started to play soccer at the age of 4 years old, and by 13, my team and I are state champions. During these years, as it became more competitive, I learned that I enjoy the challenge that soccer provides. Not only in soccer, but as a student and person, I have learned to evolve and develop in all aspects of my life. The obstacles that have been put in front of me have taught me that the more I work hard, the more I will grow. My long term goal is to play professional soccer. During the journey to professional soccer, I desire to join an academy team while still working hard on my education in preparation for playing soccer at a division 1 college prior to professional soccer. Below is a short summary of my accomplishments on and off of the field.
As stated above, I began playing recreational soccer at age 4. By 6 years old, I joined a competitive soccer club, The Wisconsin United FC Loons. At age 11, my team had our first opportunity to qualify for the Midwest Regional League but did not win one game the fall of 2021. By spring of 2022, we went undefeated and then jumped up to Premier 1 after the winter. Spring of 2023, my team qualified for the National PRO league, won the Wisconsin State Championship, took second place at the Midwest Regional Championship (losing to the team that took second in the nation), and won the USA Target Cup Gold bracket. My team and I are competing in the E64, Premier 1, and National PRO leagues for the 2023/2024 soccer season.
Soccer has taught me a lot about working hard to get results. I attend Notre Dame Academy, and in 6th grade, I was already placed in a high school algebra math class. I earned a 4.0 during my 6th grade school year while taking some advanced classes in a college prep private school and plan to continue to excel with my academics all the way through my studies.
A couple of years ago, my coach named me captain of our soccer team. He also gave me the nickname 'Rip' from the character from Yellowstone. At first, I didn't understand that nickname because my parents did not allow me to watch Yellowstone. I had to google the characteristics of Rip from Yellowstone and learned that Rip is considered tough, gritty, loyal, practical, calm, and collected in the face of danger. I have to agree with my coach. I tend to be all business, level headed, no nonsense, and get the job done kind of person. People tend to place me in leadership positions wherever I go. My classmates nominated me to the Hope Squad which means I am the person other students will reach out to if they are being bullied or are suicidal. I had to take a training exercise to learn how to best support my classmates that could be struggling. When I watch my younger brother play soccer, many times, I am the person coaches and directors ask to referee the games. It never fails.
Through the rollercoaster of sports, leadership positions, and a quality education, I feel very fortunate and excited for whatever opportunities may come my way. Thank you for clicking on my profile and learning a little bit about me.
