Personal Statement

My college goal is to play at a high level throughout my college career. I look forward to excelling in my academic studies and pushing myself to help out in the community as well as becoming a role model to others.

I am a caring and passionate person. I enjoy volunteering with United Way and consistently participate in school clubs for diversity and inclusion. One of my skills is my ability to get along with many different kinds of people. I was born in Mexico and speak, read and write Spanish fluently.

In school I am an great learner and push myself to try new courses. I am not afraid to speak to my teacher about problems I have with schoolwork, and frequently stay after school to work with my teachers.

This year I am playing for the Madison 56ers U16 top team and our squad has a high ceiling, we are projected to make the state final and I believe we are capable of winning it all. In the NPL we play against some of the top regional club teams such as Twin Stars academy and FC Wisconsin Nationals, two years ago we made the Regional playoffs and this year we have the ability to make it back and win our conference.

What sets me apart from other athletes is that I have a strong work ethic, commuicate effectively and am a team player. What that means is that I care for my teammates and their success is important to me too. I am the captain for my club team and the anchor of my defense. I hold every player accountable including myself and am a leader for our squad.

2015 Madison 56ers U14 NPL(WI) (NPL)
The past two years our team has been one of the top clubs in Wisconsin. In State Cup, we lost in the group stages to the eventual champion but placed second in our group. We played well enough in the NPL to qualify for the Midwest Developmental League Playoffs with seven wins, four loses, and two ties. In the Playoffs we lost to both Vardar 1-0, and Sockers 2-0 who both ended up as the finalists, then we tied the Derby City Rovers 0-0. We played 16 games this season and I was only scored on 12 times including the playoffs

High School Wisconsin State Semifinals

My high school team, Madison West Regents, made it to the Wisconsin State Semifinal. We faced one of the top teams in the country, Milwaukee Marquette Hilltoppers, who are ranked 6th in the country. I performed well, making 8 saves and keeping my team in the game throughout tough stretches in the game. Although we lost I think that I really shined and made my school and team proud. Midwest Developmental League Playoffs
6/13/15 to 6/15/15
We qualified for the playoffs and played our first game against Sockers FC in the final minutes of the first half they scored off a corner kick, then a breakaway, the second half we held them scoreless but couldn't connect on our opportunities. Then we played our second game against Vardar and in the first half they scored off of a finish at the penalty marker, but that was only one of their seven or eight shots that game, it was a very even game. Our final game was against Derby City Rovers who needed a win to pass into the finals, in the first 15 minutes they had control of the game but we slowly gained control of the game and were very close to winning the game but couldn't capitalize so we tied at 0.
