Personal Statement
My name is Jonah Maas I am a 17 year old midfielder from Madison, Wisconsin. I started playing soccer when I was 6 but really fell in love with the game at age 12. My dad put a full size goal in our backyard and I would go out everyday with my older brother and his friends every day to shoot around, pass with each other, defending, dribbling, and juggling in our little games. I realized how much my skills were improving and became motivated to work on all aspects of my game. It was important to me to become two footed and through my independent and team trainings I was able to accomplish that goal. When I'm not playing soccer I spend time watching games studying the different playing styles and have learned a lot about positioning, formations, and strategies which has helped give me a good understanding about my important role in central midfield. One of my strengths is my endurance in games and trainings to give it my all with a goal to always be the hardest working player on the field. I have just recently switched to the Madison 56ers Red U-18 team. I attend James Madison Memorial High School and I'm a midfielder for the Varsity team. I am extremely excited and motivated to play soccer as well as achieve my academic goals in college. I am dedicated to working hard on and off the soccer field.
