My name is Axel Huicochea and I am from Chicago, IL. My primary position is a midfielder. I have been playing soccer since the age of 8. I would just play soccer in the back of my house with my friends anytime we could. I started playing for a club team until i was the age 11. With this team, i would play two or three games a day because the coaches would move me up to play with the older kids. My next team was the Chicago Fire Juniors. There, i was a starting midfielder and a back-up goalie. Unfortunately, I was only able to develop my skills with this team for one year because I was unable to return because of financial issues. At the age of 13, i joined Tuzos Chicago Soccer Academy. This club team is an academy branched from the Mexican club team Pachuca F.C and is led by coach Jesus Estrada, a former professional soccer player for Pachuca. I have played in numerous tournaments and won several championships with the academy. At St. Lawrence i was bumped up to varsity mid season as a freshman and even scored my first game. Soccer is something that i live for and is a getaway for me. When i am on the field nothing else matters to me than the ambition to win and succeed. On the field, i try leading and encouraging my teammates. Playing College soccer would be a challenge i am willing to accept and is something i know i can succeed in.
